Upcoming Art Show - Call for Submissions!

7th Gen is putting out a call for submissions for Aboriginal youth to display their work at the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs' Open House April 20th.

This is a great chance to gain exposure and there is high potential to sell your piece, or a print of your piece.  Aboriginal Affairs also hosted our previous EXPRESSU show last March and it was a big hit.

This year the show is for two hours, but we need to prep and design it according to the pieces submitted.

PLEASE SUBMIT A PHOTO OF YOUR WORK with:
Name
Age
Contact info
Description of the artwork (media, measurements)

NO LATER THAN APRIL 15th to 7thgim@gmail.com

Media Nights: EXPRESSU II

Last year's EXPRESSU show was such a hit (thank you ArtREACH Toronto!) that we decided to hold another one for those who missed it last year, courtesy of Native Child & Family Services of Toronto (NCFST).

EXPRESSU II will have a similar format, and requires Aboriginal youth participants (ages 16-29) to sign a project agreement to take part.

The official sign-up is happening tonight from 6:30-8PM at 30 College St.! If you are unable to make it, and if we still have additional spots, you can make alternate arrangements to sign up and learn about the coming schedule.

Media nights will still be open for youth wanting to learn about the process, but the project itself will be reserved for those who have signed up and not done the project last year.

See you then!  For access to 30 College after 6PM please call 647-258-8301 EXT 3507 (it will be posted on the door).  Refreshments are provided.

Regalia Plus ending

"Regalia Plus" is coming to an end... awwwww... but we are so proud of the youth who participated and used their creativity and innovation to make regalia with Jen and Deanne.

Regalia Plus:  We are wrapping up the Regalia Plus project with the Ontario Arts Council next week.  Chii miigwetch to all those who participated and helped with the sessions!  Big thanks to Deanne, Jenifer and Echo for facilitating!!  This project was made possible through the Ontario Arts Council in partnership with 7th Generation Image Makers and NCFST.  We highly encourage anyone who is interested in completing regalia to visit the Native Canadian Center (16 Spadina Ave) on Wednesday nights with Deanne.
